McLaren Artura Rental in Dubai Review

Dubai is a city of luxury, crazy adventures, and a passion for high-performance cars. Whether you come for leisure or work, your trip should be filled with pleasant excitement. We recommend renting a McLaren Artura supercar to experience many pleasant emotions.

With advanced technology, exquisite design, and outstanding performance, the McLaren Artura has become one of Dubai's most famous supercars available for rent. This review will consider all the vehicle's features and the pros and cons of luxury car rental from Trinity Rental.

Brief model history

The famous racing driver Bruce McLaren once said that life is measured in achievements, not just years, but estimating how prophetic his words would prove to be was hard. That statement has become true not only for the driver himself, who died tragically in a crash at the age of 32, but also for the car manufacturer that bears his name.

First established in 1985 as McLaren Cars before rebranding as McLaren Automotive in 2010, the British brand has significantly impacted the supercar industry that belies its relatively short history. One of McLaren's attempts to change the landscape was the introduction of the McLaren Artura, the brand's first production high-performance hybrid.

Indeed, the new hybrid doesn't represent a fundamental change to McLaren's operation, as the famous P1 and more recent Speedtail series both feature electrification. However, the Artura does offer a unique approach. During the car's technical briefing, the company's director of product strategy, Jamie Corstorphine, noted that the model's main objective is to add functionality and performance, but without the weight increase that comes with such technology.

To achieve the ambitious goals, an alternative to the standard turbocharged eight-cylinder design used in the P1 and Speedtail had to be found. Corstorphine said that the team wanted to build on some achievements of previous models while also taking advantage of the opportunity to create a car from scratch.

Speaking about the new system, he noted that the overall powertrain, from the front of the engine through the engine, e-motor, and transmission, will be shorter and narrower than the V-8 powertrain systems.

All these achievements allow us to discuss in our review that the McLaren Artura at Trinity Rental is a new milestone in the history of the automobile corporation.

McLaren Artura specifications

In the McLaren Artura rental review, we emphasize that the first serial hybrid supercar, McLaren, embodies half a century of the corporation's experience. It shows knowledge of racing and road vehicles of the new generation, combining innovative technologies and the brand's dedication to pure driving.

Created considering the McLaren philosophy, which provides for creating ultra-light structures, the innovative Artura is the quintessence of all McLaren properties: optimal design, unique characteristics, excellent dynamics, and engineering innovations. Implementing electrification creates additional benefits through instant throttle response, reduced emissions, and the ability to move in pure electric mode without emissions for up to 30 km.

Below is our McLaren Artura review. We will discuss the car's technical properties, exterior, and interior in more detail.

Interior

In writing our review, we found the McLaren Artura's interior far from unique, but it's more polished and better finished than the Sports Series or GTS. It's laid out logically, the central touchscreen is responsive, and the Apple CarPlay integration is neat.

image4.jpg

This is the first McLaren to use rocker switches on the dashboard to change modes: once you get the hang of it, it's an intuitive solution. The display is clear, although navigating through sub-menus via the stalk can be tricky if you want to switch from viewing trip information to a playlist. But that's the reality when there are no buttons on the steering wheel. You can use the touchscreen. It's the best infotainment system. Let's look at other car interior features for long-term rental.

  • Some users complain that getting into the car is difficult. You have to squeeze into the gap between the roof and the opening door before climbing down, as the door doesn't take part of the roof with it when it opens.
  • Our McLaren Artura overview defines the best seats as the Clubsports if your hips can handle them. They're one-piece units that tilt, lift, and swivel easily. They feel extreme, but they're not. The Comfort seats have more adjustments but sit too high.
  • Visibility is a strong point. The rear window is quite large, and since there's no wing, the driver can see everything that's going on behind. The car's modest dimensions (4,539 mm long and 1,976 mm wide) help. When you look forward, the Artura's windscreen offers best-in-class visibility.
  • Unique leather details. Head of Color and Materials Design Jo Lewis worked with long-standing supplier Bridge of Weir to ensure the leather was of the same thickness, feel, and quality. However, aeration of the reverse side reduces the weight by several kilos while maintaining the soft feel customers expect from a car interior.

The lack of power sent to the front wheels creates space for a 160-litre cargo area. If you don't plan to charge the battery, you don't have to carry a cable that consumes valuable space. There's also a shelf behind the seats for storage, although they can impair visibility. Inside, there's a cupholder, a place for a wallet, and a handy door bin.

Technical specs

We would like to continue our McLaren Artura review by examining the technical parameters of the car. The Artura has an innovative V-6 engine that produces 671 horsepower and 531 pound-feet of torque. This power is managed by an innovative eight-speed seamless gearbox (SSG) and the company's first electronic differential. This allows the car to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph (99.78 km/h) in just 3 seconds to a top speed of 205 mph (329.92 km/h). Such efficiency figures are due to the car weighing 3,303 pounds (1,498.22 kg) fully loaded. This is a fantastic figure, considering the presence of a heavy battery system.

The car is designed with full plug-in hybrid (PHEV) capability. It can be charged to 80% capacity in just 2.5 hours with a standard EVSE cable.

Another key weight-saving achievement is Artura's innovative McLaren Carbon Lightweight Architecture (MCLA), which features a carbon-fiber monocoque with aluminum subframes and an advanced electronics solution that relies on a sophisticated Ethernet network to avoid wiring throughout the car. This approach has reduced the car's weight by more than 10%.

The rear-wheel drive coupe offers four drive modes:

  • Comfort provides the optimum V-6 and electric motor combination under usual driving conditions (the premium car switches to electric power at speeds below 25 mph (40.23 km/h)).
  • Sport and Track are suitable for dynamic driving enthusiasts who require a more immediate and consistent power delivery.
  • E-mode is an all-electric mode that is ideal for short trips around the city.

In our McLaren Artura rental review, we should also mention the innovative rear suspension, which reduces weight and increases rigidity, and the P-Zero tires, equipped with Pirelli's unique chip technology. This technology transmits the relevant parameters to the electronic control system, creating a flawless driving experience. The standard equipment includes carbon-ceramic front and rear discs measuring 390 mm and 380 mm, respectively. They also received forged aluminum studs.

McLaren Artura has many driver assistance features that make driving easier and faster. These include active cruise control, automatic emergency braking, and lane-keeping assist. These features help the driver stay safe by warning or taking necessary actions. The car also has a parking assistance system, making parking in tight spaces easier.

Exterior

McLaren Artura debuted a unique vehicle architecture to take the brand into the next decade. Our review found the car to be evolutionary rather than revolutionary. At first glance, the McLaren Artura looks like what you'd expect from a new brand's car. However, a closer look reveals an evolution of the design rather than a copy of the standard graphics, coupled with a keen attention to aerodynamics.

image3.jpg

The Artura takes its styling cues from other McLaren models, and indeed, from the front, you could mistake it for one of the British company's other cars, such as the McLaren 720S. Still, it's more individual at the rear, with a neat rear spoiler, subtle brake lights, and two exhaust pipes that point rearwards and look aggressive. Vents near the front wheels redirect turbulent air down from the wheel frames so it doesn't restrict airflow into the engine intake at the rear. Additionally, what looks like a standard styling line on the door redirects air from the front of the car along the sill and into the cooling radiators at the rear.

When writing the review, we noticed that in the metal, the Artura feels tighter, more refined, and more composed than previous versions of the brand. The exclusive car has well-controlled surfaces, maximum detailing, and tight panel gaps. The doors, roof, rear clamshell, and A-pillar are «superformed» aluminum elements. The bonnet is a standard aluminum stamping, while the front and rear quarter panels are made from composite materials.

The world of supercars is changing, as Porsche and Ferrari regularly demonstrate, but McLaren is not far behind. When writing the McLaren Artura review, we realized that the company was waiting and trying to create a supercar that could be used as an electric car for a short distance. This makes the supercar, like other models like the McLaren 720S, suitable for daily driving. The aerodynamic shape of the McLaren Artura reduces drag resistance and fuel consumption.

The front of the car demonstrates the brand's standard design, with slanted headlights and side air intakes in the front bumper. On the sides, deep air intakes provide adequate cooling and power for the powerful V6 engine. Renting a vehicle in Dubai from Trinity Rental is the best way to experience pure luxury or excitement. It will help you appear effectively at a special event, explore the city in style, or satisfy your need for speed.
